Excluded Tags FAQ
Stop seeing tags that don't fit your content
Some tags score well but don't match what you post. When you exclude a tag, SlyKiwi stops suggesting it to you. You set it once, and every tool follows it.
The list is tied to your account. It doesn't change what other creators see. Excluded Tags is free, but you need to be logged in to use it.
There are three ways to do it:
From the Excluded Tags page:
- Open Excluded Tags. It's in your dashboard menu.
- Search for the tag. Type part of its name. The most viewed matches show first.
- Click Exclude. The tag moves to your list below the search.
While you work:
- In Tag Generator, click the ban icon on a suggested tag.
- In Post Optimizer, click the ban icon next to a suggested swap or a suggested tag.
- If you're not logged in, we ask you to sign in first. We hide the tag right after.
The tag drops out of suggestions in these places:
Not in suggestions, search results or autocomplete.
Not offered as a swap or as a tag to add.
Not offered as a swap or as a tag to add.
Left out of the bundles you generate.
The browser extension follows the same list when you are logged in to SlyKiwi there. Tag autocomplete, tag pairs, tag advice, bundles and creator reports all skip your excluded tags.
- The tags you excluded most recently are at the top.
- The number next to the title is how many tags you excluded in total.
- Each row shows when you excluded the tag.
- Click a tag name to open its page with stats.
- The list shows 20 tags per page. Use the page links below it to see more.
Tag not in the search:
- Search shows up to 15 matches. Type more of the name to narrow it down.
- Tags you already excluded don't show in the search. Check your list below.
- A very new tag may not be in our data yet.
Excluded tag still shows up:
- Make sure you're logged in. When you're logged out, no exclusions apply.
- In the extension, log in to SlyKiwi from the extension popup.
- We don't remove tags you type yourself. Excluding a tag only stops us from suggesting it.
- Reload the tool page or run the tool again.
- Tags for content you don't make and don't plan to make.
- Tags you keep skipping every time they come up.
- Tags that would mislead your fans about what you post.
