Getting started

The Banned Tag Check tells you if a Fansly tag is banned and how well it does compared with other tags.

A banned tag can limit who sees your post, and Fansly won't tell you. People call this a shadowban. It can cost you views and sales.

For each tag, the tool shows one of these statuses:

  • Banned: Fansly stopped showing results for this tag
  • Low or Bad: Few views and likes compared with other tags
  • Average or Good: Moderate views and likes
  • Excellent: Among the top 10% of tags

Check your tags before you post so a banned tag doesn't slip through.

Getting started

A check takes a few seconds:

Step by step:
  1. Type your tag. The # symbol is optional.
  2. Hit Enter or click Check. The result shows up right away.
  3. Review the status. See the rating and our advice.
What the results mean:
  • BANNED Don't use it
  • LOW Replace it if you can
  • GOOD Safe to use
  • EXCELLENT One of the strongest tags
Tip: Check all your tags before you post. One banned tag can hurt the whole post, even if the other tags are fine.
Features

We rate each tag by comparing its score with every other tag:

Banned
  • The tag used to have views
  • Fansly then returned nothing for it
  • This happened on 3 different days
Action: don't use it
Low or bad
  • Scores in the bottom 40% of tags
  • Few views or likes
  • Not banned
Action: replace if you can
Average or good
  • Scores in the middle of all tags
  • Not banned
  • Moderate views and likes
Action: safe to use
Excellent
  • Scores in the top 10% of tags
  • Strong views and likes
  • Not banned
Action: use it first
Troubleshooting

If a tag shows as banned or low, here's what to do:

Do this:
  • Find a similar tag with the Tags Discovery Widget
  • Try a more specific version of the banned tag
  • Use broader tags that aren't banned
  • Check again later, since a status can change
  • Lean on tags rated Excellent
Avoid this:
  • Using a banned tag and hoping it works
  • Adding special characters to get around a ban
  • Ignoring a low rating
  • Using only one type of tag
  • Posting a new tag without checking it first
Remember: Fansly changes which tags it limits. A tag banned today might work next month, and the other way around. Check your tags before every post.
